Written by MS, RD, LD, CDE Monica Joyce: I was recently asked by a coworker if I took supplements. She stated that everyone she knows does. I felt a little guilty when I said no I eat healthy. Then I stumbled upon a stat from the New England Journal of Medicine that said there are 23,000 emergency room visits each year for people experiencing adverse health effects of dietary supplements.
Seems like it’s a much better idea to simply eat healthy.
