Now that it’s cold outside, how nice would it be to have a hot meal that you can make ahead of time and just reheat when you get home? Shepherd’s pie is a traditional English comfort food that is made up of fluffy mashed potatoes, ground beef, and veggies. It has a good ratio of carbs, protein, and fat, and it’s a perfect fall meal that will keep you going for hours.

Do you want to know the best part about shepherd’s pie, though? You can alter the recipe to your liking, and it will still probably taste fantastic! Use sweet potatoes or mashed cauliflower instead of regular potatoes, choose a leaner or vegan protein source, or play around with your veggie variations. It’s your kitchen, and the way you make your pie is up to you!
