Princess Kate Losing Pregnancy Weight

in The Too Busy to Diet Blog on September 9, 2013

No sooner than Kate left the hospital, did the media begin commenting on her post-pregnancy baby bump. Read my blog, Dietitian Sympathizes over Princess Kate Post-pregnancy Baby Bump.
Kate was seen just six weeks post-partum and has been rumored to have lost 29 pounds since she had baby George. In my blog, I commented that I felt that Princess Kate would lose her pregnancy weight easily. The reasons for this include: her genetic tendency towards being thin- her entire family is thin and she is reported to have been thin all her life. She is an extremely active woman and has enjoyed sports all of her life. Kate and William have also been reported to have done a lot of walking in Anglesey where the weather was lovely after George was born. Kate is breastfeeding and I have found that my thin breastfeeding mothers generally lose their weight fast and often have to consume an even more caloric diet to maintain their normal weight as they continue breastfeeding. Kate has the access to the best medical professionals, including registered dietitians who would provide her with the best pregnancy and post-pregnancy nutrition guidelines.
So if you want to lose all of your pregnancy weight, follow Kate’s lead. Start out your pregnancy at your ideal body weight, stay active, breastfeed, walk post-partum, and avail yourself with the services of a registered dietitian. A dietitian will supervise your diet during your pregnancy and post-partum. And have great genes and be a princess!
