So, you’re going to a tailgate party. What are you bringing? Something quick and easy is the best idea with the busy weeks we are all faced with. Try this low calorie guacamole recipe with the healthy punch of avocados.

Avocados are a heart healthy food that:

• Contain more potassium than bananas
• Help lower cholesterol and triglyceride levels
• Provide a healthy amount of fiber that lower cholesterol, triglyceride, and blood sugar levels
• Enhance the absorption of fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K
• Protect the eyes with their high antioxidant content of Lutein and Zeaxanthin
• Aid in preventing cataract and macular degeneration

So if you are heading to a football game remember to think healthy. And if you are living in Chicago, start praying or hope for a miracle!

Guacamole Light:

Ingredients:
1 large zucchini, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 large ripe avocado, cubed

1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons lime juice
1/2-teaspoon hot sauces, such as Tabasco
1/4-teaspoon salt

Directions;

1. Place zucchini in a microwave-safe dish, cover with a damp paper towel and microwave on high until tender, 4 to 5 minutes. Drain in a sleeve, pressing lightly on the zucchini to extract any liquid.
