Every Activity Counts for Exercise

in The Too Busy to Diet Blog on May 8, 2017

Remember May is Exercise is Medicine Month.
When we think of exercise we often think of 1 hour workouts at the club after a long day of work.
Our best of intentions can get side tracked by busyness, long days and just being too tired to go.

Remember that any activity counts. Just gettcomputer 2B2Ding moving during the day is important.

Katy Bowman, a scientist says what I have said for years to my patients: “Actively sedentary is a new category of people who are fit for one hour but sitting around the rest of the day…You can’t offset 10 hours of stillness with one hour of exercise”.
I seem to be saying that to my clients more and more. My average client that works in an office and sits at a computer averages about 4,000 steps a day, falling 6,000 short of the 10,000 recommended.
Look around for opportunities to move. They are here, there and everywhere.
